BPM Buyer's Guide |
 |
|
BPM
Partners, working with Business Finance
magazine, reviewed over 80 vendors (up from
60 last year) that offer business performance
management solutions. We looked at ERP,
Tools, and Application vendors. The result
is a comprehensive guide that enables you
to easily compare vendors by key attributes
and get the most up to date information
on their company and offerings. Unlike some
guides, this one is not based on survey
forms completed by the vendors nor is it
a sponsored listing (although Business Finance
added some vendor logos of their advertisers
after our work was complete). Download the
full guide below, or use our online vendor
search tool (under Quick Links) to just
see the vendors that meet your criteria.

The
New Thinking on KPIs |
 |
|
This
article suggests that the typical key performance
indicators most companies track (net profit,
customer satisfaction, return on capital,
etc.) are not KPIs at all. In particular,
the author believes that since they are
the result of many actions it is not clear
what needs to be fixed if they are off target.
The article goes on to propose what your
KPIs should really look like.

Hyperion's Latest Acquisition
|
| |
Hyperion has just announced its acquisition
of Razza Solutions, a developer of software
that synchronizes meta data (accounts, hierarchies,
other business dimensions and rules) across
multiple systems. This addresses a big issue
for BPM: how do you keep all of your source
systems in synch as you strive for one version
of the truth? For example, does 'Region1'
roll up the same way in your CRM system
as it does in your ERP system? How do you
add a line item to the chart of accounts
in one place and have it impact and update
all relevant systems? Clearly, automating
this task is of high-value to users of BPM.
