| Fall BPM Conferences Ready to Go |
 |
| We've been telling you about two exciting BPM
conferences planned for this fall. Both have just about
finalized their agendas and list of speakers. Now is a good
time to review conference content and register. The BPM
Summit (Rye Brook, NY, October) offers several panel and
roundtable discussions focusing on challenges and best
practices for the senior executive. The DCI Performance
Management Conference (Boston, MA, December) has both a
business and implementation track, as well as several
customer case studies. Both conferences have exciting
keynote speakers.

| Vendor Spotlight: Merger Madness |
 |
| The consolidation trend in the BPM space seems to be
accelerating. It started with the Cognos acquisition
of Adaytum. This was recently followed by the Geac
acquisition of Comshare. Now, in late July,
Hyperion announced the acquisition of Brio
Software, and Business Objects announced its
planned acquisition of Crystal Decisions. Both of
these transactions will create larger and stronger companies
and make life harder for the smaller independent companies.
